RESUMEN

Pulmonary artery pseudoaneurysms (PAPs) are uncommon entities consisting of contained rupture of the pulmonary artery and are a potentially fatal cause of hemoptysis. We describe two index cases of left lower lobe PAPs and arterial ectasia post-COVID-19 pneumonitis and their endovascular treatment with Amplatzer vascular plug, coils, and glue.Copyright © 2022. RESUMEN

Introduction: Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a pandemic disease caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). The disease was first identified in December 2019 in Wuhan and spread in 216 countries due to airborne transmission. But the transmission rate is low in some of the countries and large in a few countries like Italy Iran, Japan, India, the USA etc. Objective: The present paper focuses on the study of the transmission speed of COVID-19 cases. But it is observed that up to 5th march the total daily number of cases conformed is below 1000 from various countries where it is now raised to more than 75,000. Methods: 14 countries case studies are taken depend on the data availability, the first case reported in the last week of January or the first week of February and the severity of the outbreak of COVID-19. The daily reported number of Covid-19 cases for each country is collected from the WHO Daily reports. The data is converted into a graphical form. The selected countries are divided into three groups. The first group contain the cases reported below 10,000 on 16th April 2020, the second group reported the cases between 10,000 to 50000 on or before 16th April and the third group reported above 50,000 cases on 16th April 2020. Results: Sudden rise in cases take place from 12th March 2020 to date over the entire globe. From the available data, it is also observed that the number of countries infected also drastically increased in March 2020. Conclusion: It is also observed that in nearly the first 40-50 days the transmission rate of coronavirus is very low and confirmed cases reporting have travel history. After that, the local transmission took place which led to the sudden rise in confirmed cases. © IJCRR.

RESUMEN

Siddha system of medicine is a distinct therapeutic science with many single drugs and compound formulations used for treating a broad spectrum of ailments. Siddha categorizes the fever manifested by viral infestation into 64 types and it has developed medicines for each type. Kapacurak / Kabasurak Kutinir (KK) described in the Citta Vaittiyattirattu is the best promising polyherbal formulation of plant origin for curing viral infections especially with flu-like symptoms. As per Siddha system of medicine Kapacuram is defined as a fever with upper and lower respiratory catarrh. KK is one of the medicines advised for prevention of Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak in India by Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India. KK also emerged to be a popular traditional medicine for swine flu as well. The current review recapitulates active phytochemicals of all the 15 herbal drug ingredients in KK with the aim to provide it support for usage in flu-like viral infections spreading over the world in the scenario of having no modern medicines. Interestingly, out of 15 herbal ingredients in KK, Zingiber officinale rhizome, Andrographis paniculata whole plant, Syzygium aromaticum flower bud, Cyperus rotundus tuber, Sida acuta roots and Saussurea costus root have been proved to exhibit antiviral activities. All the ingredients have been proved to possess antinflammatory activities. Three proved to have antipyretic potential and five each proved to possess analgesic and immunomodulatory activities. There are ingredients with antiasthmatic and antispasmodic supporting its use in respiratory illnesses such as that caused by COVID-19. The study supports the usage of KK as a traditional Siddha medicine against respiratory illnesses with flu-like symptoms characteristic of SARS-CoV-2. © 2021, Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India. RESUMEN

The present study focuses on reasons of spreading for COVID-19 cases and its increasing rate. From the case studies it is observed that for first 40-50 days, the spreading of coronavirus was very low and conformed cases had travel history. After that the local transmission took place which led to the sudden rise in conformed cases. it is also observed that the genetic nature of corona made slight change from country to country and location to location for survival of virus in different climatic conditions in first 40-50 days. The coronavirus took all over the globe irrespective of climatic conditions. The replicated corona virus in a particular host may become more virulent by adapting certain modifications in its structure and genes, thereby enhancing its pathogenicity. This may be the plausible explanation behind the sudden spike in corona cases globally. © 2020, World Research Association. All rights reserved.
